Business Development. Marketing. Often mysterious, and full of heavy jargon, to make consultants and marketers sound like experts on everything. The reality is much simpler. We improve businesses, sell products and services to people who didn't necessarily want those things in the first place. It is certainly an art form, and this is where you come to the picture.
We are looking for a business developer & marketer who is not big on jargon but can deliver results as our valued crew member. You need to like the challenge and you want to continuously outperform yourself. Yes, you better be ambitious and competitive.
Saying so, having the right attitude is half the job, and you will learn the rest. Of course, we do have a list of your responsibilities:
- You need to be able to see the bigger picture. You have to have a good understanding of the purpose of a strategic business & marketing plan because you will develop, implement and evaluate said plans to drive growth, generate leads and enquiries, attract potential clients and keep the existing ones.
- You also have to look far ahead by continuously seeking out new trends within the industry (locally and internationally), and upskilling as a professional to elevate the standard of work produced for YBC.
- You will conduct deep research and analysis to identify new business opportunities to then develop an applicable strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, industry analysis, ompetitor analysis, target audience research, customer insights, market and consumer-trends research, along with researching best practices in the industry, and other relevant information to build successful strategies.
- You will experiment with a variety of tactics and processes like strategic thinking, content creation, content curation, pay-per-click campaigns, event management, creative advertisement, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, and performance analysis.
- You will monitor the impact of the current strategies and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics. You will optimise current campaigns based on these insights.
- You will be part of the crew, which means that frequently you will represent YBC at networking events, trade shows, and other relevant industry events to build and maintain relationships with important folks
- Generally, you will work with the internal crew to create out-of-the-box campaigns that will knock the socks off of the intended audiences. (They won't always, and it's ok.)
- You will be creative and enthusiastic but you also have to like GANTT charts and mundane everyday tasks that encourage precision and attention to detail.
