The Group is seeking a Data Governance Lead to champion, deliver and maintain our Data Management Framework and, support our data teams with delivery of our enterprise-wide transformation program. The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining data standards including to build and manage PNL’s Data Management tooling, and ensuring metadata, lineage and key definitions are appropriately captured and managed.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Contribute to the rollout approach and implementation of the Data Management framework and support the embedment of recent technology across the wider PNL Group
- Support the development of Data Management practices, process and role guides to drive business adoption of data management concepts and usage and, understanding of data management tooling across PNL.
- Conduct reviews of Data assets and controls as part of monitoring capability to improve data management practices
- Mentor a team of Data Stewards to champion and build a data aware culture across PNL. Support coaching and development of the Data Stewardship community across the group to promote growth of data governance capabilities.
- Development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of data artefacts and to support effective production and understanding of data.
- Ensure continued evolution and maturity of key Data Management processes including automation of data quality monitoring, expansion of data catalogue, and drive business adoption of data management tools
- Champion Data awareness and APRA CPS234/CPG235 compliance across the organisation
- Educate the wider business on the use of data, promoting a data driven culture.

To be successful in this role you will require:

- Excellent knowledge of Australian Information Management, Security and Privacy legislation and industry best practices. Including:

- Mature understanding of data risks and solutions including experience dealing with data leakage, cloud computing, systems access, data management.
- Detailed understanding of DAMA’s Data Management Body of Knowledge (DM BOK)
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering data management reporting, including presenting to senior management and Executive
- Experience with cloud Data Governance, Catalogue tools and Data Quality Tooling
- SQL, Python and technical Data Governance experience with lineage mapping, data quality rules, CDE tagging etc.
- Strong MS Excel capability required
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Analytics, Data Science, IT or Computer Science, Finance, Business, Law
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) preferred but not essential
