About the role
As the Head of Retail Channels at Hume Bank, you'll lead the bank's branch network and face‐to‐face service model, focusing on delivering exceptional, relationship‐led experiences that build trust, deepen customer relationships and support financial wellbeing.
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, you'll ensure the network of 15 branches across our region remains accessible, relevant and highly responsive to customer needs while delivering sustainable growth across core deposit and lending products. This role balances strong customer outcomes with disciplined commercial performance, reinforcing Hume Bank's position as a trusted, community‐connected institution.
Through visible leadership and deep local engagement, you'll champion a customer‐first culture where every interaction strengthens long‐term relationships and reflects the bank's purpose and values. With a team of approximately 50 FTE across the branch network, this is a genuinely impactful leadership opportunity in a region where community banking really matters.

* Strengthen the bank's presence in regional communities through visible leadership, local engagement and building deep relationships that create meaningful growth opportunities.
* Ensure all branch activities operate in a compliant, controlled and sustainable manner, maintaining strong oversight of operational risk and regulatory requirements.
About you
* Bring proven senior leadership experience in retail or branch banking environments, with a strong track record of leading geographically dispersed teams.
* Demonstrate strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth, risk and customer outcomes.
* Possess a deep understanding of retail banking products, including deposits and lending, and the competitive landscape.
* Have experience operating in a regulated environment, ideally with exposure to Australian Prudential Regulation Authority expectations.
* Demonstrate a strong connection to community and customer‐owned banking principles, with a values‐led leadership style focused on trust, accountability and engagement.
* Hold a tertiary qualification in Business or a related field; a Tier 2 qualification is also required and can be obtained upon commencement.
* Hold a current driver's licence and be willing to travel from time to time across the branch network.
