We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to support a government client in Townsville. The Finance Officer position sits within the Financial Reporting team and is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of cash balances, performing transactional banking and investment functions, and providing support to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.

Key Duties
* Ensure accuracy and reliability of all cash balance records.
* Carry out day‑to‑day banking transactions and manage investment‑related processes.
* Assist the Financial Reporting team in meeting required timeframes and deliverables.
* Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
* Prepare daily cash flow forecasts and arrange transfers between accounts as needed.
* Process and approve EFT payments for payroll and accounts payable via the organisation's online banking platform.
* Retrieve agency files and forward them to the relevant business units.
* Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
* Provide backup and assistance to other Finance Officers when required.
