Full-time role leading the Structures and Stormwater Team within the Community Infrastructure Division.

About The Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Structures and Stormwater, this role leads the day-to-day operations of the Structures and Stormwater Team, delivering both scheduled and urgent maintenance across Council's stormwater and structural assets.
You will work in collaboration with the Structures and Stormwater Coordinator to provide hands-on leadership, safety-focused management, and team development.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
Supervise the daily activities of the Stormwater and Structures Team, ensuring efficient delivery of maintenance and repairs.
Perform safety checks on worksites, plant, and stormwater management systems, ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental legislation, and safety protocols.
Deliver consistent and decisive leadership to the team.
Lead, mentor, and support team development through training and performance feedback.
Maintain stormwater and concrete structures across the Council's road network.
Scope and coordinate work with contractors, ensuring all work adheres to construction standards and environmental policies with quality verification upon completion.
Plan appropriate resourcing of plant, equipment, contractors and labour for each project.
Participate in after-hours on-call roster and monitor, report, and manage incidents, hazards, and injuries following Council procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and experience in supervising and leading staff.
Knowledge of plant and equipment used in formwork, concreting, road construction and pipe laying; ability to operate various hand and power tools.
Working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act.
Strong written and oral communication skills, along with computer literacy and numeracy.
Construction Industry White Card, current MR driver's licence, and ability to work out of hours within an on-call roster for emergencies or programmed works as necessary.
Remuneration And Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with a 9-day fortnight)
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1356.42 per week with the opportunity for competency-based progression up to $1518.26 per week
Allowances: Adverse Working Level 1 / On-call / Tool of Trade Vehicle
