An exciting opportunity exists for the Clinical Coder Advanced role to provide expert clinical coding and documentation advice to staff within SCHHS including clinicians, peer clinical coders and other colleagues. The Advanced Clinical Coder also undertakes clinical coding audit activities to ensure quality and optimisation of coded inpatient data and associated activity. This role also supports the development of education packages to improve the quality of clinical documentation and actively interfaces with clinicians to ensure communication of clinical coding advice.

The Clinical Coder Advanced is acknowledged as having high level clinical coding skills and knowledge, across a broad range of clinical specialties via extensive on the job experience.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Actively undertake targeted audit of clinical coding and associated DRG allocation in conjunction with SCHHS audit plans and identified deficiencies.
- Contribute to Clinical Coding Services within SCHHS, including the provision of training and development of education material, and actively upskill new and existing Clinical Coders and peer Clinical Documentation Specialists.
- Support the provision of advice in relation to the Queensland Health Activity Based Funding (ABF) model, sub
- and non-acute patients (SNAP), and other clinical coding related matters.
