About The Role
BMA is Australia's largest producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal, owned 50:50 by BHP and Mitsubishi Development.
As the General Manager Hay Point, you will lead high performance in the operation by delivering reliable safe production through an engaged and enabled workforce, maximising value through the supply chain.

* Assess the maturity of the BHP Operating System, focussed on improving performance outcomes (safety, culture, operations, cost) adjusting priorities as needed.
* Enable implementation of large-scale improvements to processes and ways of working, delivering performance uplift across the Value Chain.
* Encourage innovation and reflection by enabling teams to experiment and challenge current ways of working.
* Leverage partnerships with strategically important organisations to navigate a more global business environment.
* Anticipate risk implications and social value outcomes of decisions, enabling teams to generate options that will enable business objectives.
* Influence across the Senior Leader level to identify and remove systemic barriers to delivering sustainable improvement.
You will be based in Mackay, QLD.
About You
You will have held leadership roles in the resource sector (or a similar industry), improving performance and leading sustainable change within an operation.
You have experience working in a complex matrix organisation and a strong understanding of the project lifecycle and value levers, with proven success in delivering projects of varying size and complexity.
You are inquisitive, a problem solver who embraces adaptive challenges, finding workable and innovative solutions.
You build relationships with stakeholders to achieve objectives, using communication, listening and influencing skills.
You prioritise work to meet various deliverables, leading diverse teams through change and building capability through coaching and mentoring.
You value safety and hold yourself and others to account.
A tertiary qualification in Engineering, or a similar qualification, is required.
