Introduction
About this role:
Rubicon is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of our advanced irrigation and infrastructure technology. This role plays a key part in shaping new product concepts, improving existing systems and supporting the transition of designs into production. You will also play a leadership role within the Mechanical Engineering group, supporting capability development and contributing to design standards.
Description
Key responsibilities
1. Lead mechanical system design and development across new and existing product lines.
2. Researching new parts and technologies for integration into innovative design solutions.
3. Generation and maintenance of CAD files.
4. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, validation and design reviews to ensure product performance and reliability
5. Prepare bills of materials, test requests and engineering reports.
6. Support the introduction of new products into production, working closely with manufacturing.
7. Input to support the development of users manuals and technical support documentation.
8. Provide leadership and mentoring within the Mechanical Engineering team.
9. Participate in field support and QA activities as required.
Skills And Experiences
Skills & experience:
10. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
11. 8+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in a product development or manufacturing environment.
12. Knowledge of Australian drafting standards, using the CAD package (Solidworks).
13. Demonstrated technical abilities applicable to Mechanical Engineering design and development.
14. Proven experience managing multiple design projects and delivering to deadlines.
15. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
16. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
17. Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical activities.
