We're looking for an experienced and motivated Deli Manager ( Angelo st Market ) to take charge of our busy deli department. You'll lead a passionate team, maintain exceptional standards of food quality and presentation, and ensure smooth, efficient service across our fresh deli counter.
About the Role
This is a full-time role, and you must be available to work weekends as part of a rotating roster. You'll manage day-to-day operations, product displays, stock ordering, and team leadership, while maintaining the high standards Angelo Street Market is known for.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all aspects of the deli department
* Supervise and train team members to deliver consistent service
* Oversee stock ordering, inventory control, and waste management
* Maintain quality presentation and product freshness at all times
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Manage daily preparation, slicing, and serving of smallgoods, cheeses, and antipasto
* Liaise with kitchen to ensure smooth coordination
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
* Support management in developing specials, promotions, and product ranges
About You
You're an experienced deli or fresh food professional who loves working with premium ingredients and delivering great service.
You will bring
* Previous deli and management experience
* Strong knowledge of small goods, cheeses
* Ability to lead, train, and motivate staff
* Attention to detail and pride in product presentation
* Excellent communication and people management skills
* Reliable, well‐organised, and hands‐on
* Weekend availability and flexibility for busy periods
