Teacher - Education Support Branch: Avonvale Education Support Centre Division: Wheatbelt Education Region Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,016 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA ****) Work Type: Permanent - Full Time FTE: Location: Northam Closing Date: ************:30 PM Attachments: - - This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, **** Avonvale Education Support Centre (ESC) currently has two (2) permanent full-time Education Support Teacher positions available, commencing in Term 1, ****.
Avonvale ESC caters for approximately 45 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Our specialised facilities are split across two campuses with early intervention and primary school students located at Avonvale Primary School, and secondary students located at Northam Senior High School.
Our whole school planning ensures the quality of our program delivery is comprehensive and current.
Our students are provided with individual education plans that cater to their strengths and needs.
All our students learn the Western Australian Curriculum (with the necessary adjustments and modifications) which allows them to participate in age-appropriate lessons and activities.

The Role The successful applicant should ideally be able to use explicit teaching strategies and display effective classroom management skills to enhance student learning and wellbeing.
Ideally, they should be flexible, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, display a commitment to professional learning, and actively participate in collaborative team planning.
The role involves planning, programming, and assessing using an integrated curriculum, differentiated to meet individual student needs.
It is desirable that the applicant displays highly regarded teaching practices, the capacity for self-reflection, and a willingness to seek ongoing improvement in their professional practice.
We are seeking an Education Support Teacher who is hardworking and knowledgeable about a range of disabilities, and the implementation of strategies that support and enhance individual development across all areas.
In an education support environment, teachers should preferably be able to positively manage a team of Education Assistants to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
They should engage with and contribute to the school community, and work collaboratively with families, therapists, and external agencies to support improved student outcomes.

At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
