Senior Psychologist - Charters Towers State High School & Richmond Hill State School
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Psychologist to join our teams at Charters Towers State High School and Richmond Hill State School as part of Queensland's Wellbeing Workforce. You will work closely with students and families to provide support for mild to moderate mental health concerns and enhance wellbeing services within the school community.
About the Role
As a member of the student support team, you will provide psychological assessment and intervention, coordinate professional training, and support schools during critical incidents and emergencies.
Responsibilities
* Assess psychological requirements and provide appropriate responses and interventions for students' mental health and wellbeing through individual and group counselling.
* Provide advice on diagnoses from external professionals and monitor students' progress.
* Administer specialized psycho‑educational assessments for students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties.
* Coordinate or assist in the implementation of professional in‑service training programs for teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
* Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
About You
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills to support multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience in mental health assessments and interventions for children and adolescents.
* Ability to collaborate effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams and inter‑agency networks.
* Proficiency in developing and maintaining accurate records and reporting systems.
* Experience responding to critical incidents and emergencies in educational or community settings.
