Post-Harvest Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Post-Harvest Technician to support our post-harvest activities.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to our business model and is a collaborative team player but also a self-starter.
The Post-Harvest Technician is responsible for assisting the managers in the day-to-day functions of the packaging, trimming, and harvesting areas, as well as storing finished product.
* Environmental checks & ongoing observation: The Post-Harvest Technician is responsible for reporting the conditions observed of both the environment and products, helping guide the overall success of every production cycle.
* Harvesting: The technician's role involves participating in the harvesting process, ensuring that all steps are followed correctly.
* Cleaning & sanitizing: The Post-Harvest Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and storage areas.
* Monitoring environment in cure areas: The technician monitors the environment in the cure areas, ensuring that it is at optimal levels for curing.
* Protecting finished product from waste or loss: The Post-Harvest Technician is responsible for protecting the finished product from waste or loss, ensuring that all products are accounted for and stored properly.
* Trimming: The technician sorts usable product and trim into distinct batches, ensuring that all products meet quality standards.
* Packaging product and trim: The Post-Harvest Technician packages product and trim, ensuring that all products are accurately labeled and stored.
* Facilitating accurate inventory control at all steps: The technician ensures that accurate inventory control is maintained at all steps, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
* Maintaining a clean work environment: The Post-Harvest Technician maintains a clean work environment, including keeping work and break areas free of clutter and debris.
* Effective communication: The technician communicates effectively with others in post-harvest and other departments, ensuring that all needs are met and issues are resolved promptly.
Requirements:
* Age: Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
* Background check: Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
* Availability: Ability to work weekends/holidays.
* Physical demands: Ability to perform activities for up to 8 hours a day, including extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching.
* Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds for a distance of 100 feet.
* Certifications: Must pass stringent background test requirements of PA.
