About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Recovery and Resilience Lead. This position will play a key part in helping our community recover from disasters and develop strategies for resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing strategic plans for disaster recovery and resilience
* Leading workshops and support recovery efforts
* Collaborating with local teams and community members to understand their needs and make sure plans are effective and inclusive
* Providing strategic direction for disaster recovery operations and working with stakeholders to ensure coordinated, effective, and sustainable recovery and resilience outcomes
Requirements:
* Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Humanitarian Assistance, or Recovery, or significant experience in emergency management or operations within government, non-government, or private sector environments
* Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with proven experience leading project teams or resources in a collaborative and supportive work environment
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team, with a strong focus on achieving outcomes and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Proven project management skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver complex projects and manage resources effectively to meet deadlines and strategic objectives
* Experience in managing diverse stakeholder relationships and responding constructively to operational challenges in dynamic environments
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex reports, action plans, policies, procedures, and strategic documents
* Demonstrated experience in disaster management and community planning, with a proven ability to effectively plan and manage responses to crises and natural disasters
* Current Queensland C class open driver's license
* Current Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain one) for working in child-related environments
