Silverstrand is seeking a Pre-Contracts Engineer looking to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based in our Brisbane Head Office and employed on a permanent basis.
This role would be perfect for a Project Engineer looking to transfer to an office-based role.
About The Role
Reporting to the Estimating Lead.
Review tender documentation to identify scope, contract requirements, risks, opportunities, and factors impacting cost and time.
Prepare and review detailed, fully resourced and costed programmes for all project stages.
Collaborate with estimating teams to forecast project costs and timeframes, including quantities, production rates, subcontractor inputs, and cost analysis.
Developing construction methodologies, staging strategies, and preliminary programmes.
Undertake risk analysis and apply risk management processes to mitigate identified project risks.
Support preparation of technical submissions, including methodology statements and temporary works concepts (with Engineering input).
Liaise with clients, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and internal stakeholders to verify project information and manage programme impacts.
Lead and coordinate planning activities to ensure a smooth transition from pre-contract to post-tender delivery.
Support tender reviews, governance processes, and project handovers to ensure clarity of scope and delivery strategy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 years site experience working on infrastructure projects in the civil space
Demonstrated proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Projects
Previous estimating experience - highly regarded
Exceptional communications skills – the ability to interact, collaborate and consult with project and site staff to provide information flow on the performance of the planning and controls function
Ability to work across multiple projects at a time
