Legal Counsel Contracts and Delivery

About the opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Legal Counsel Contracts and Delivery to join our in-house legal team, advising on major infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand.
The role can be based in, Brisbane or Melbourne with hybrid work options.
Responsibilities
Work across the full project lifecycle, from pre-contract through to delivery.
Advise on a broad range of contract models, including D&C, EPC, lump sum, target cost, cost reimbursable, alliances, frameworks and joint ventures.
Lead front-end contracting, including drafting, negotiation and risk assessment.
Provide clear, practical advice on contract risk, disputes and compliance to support decision-making.
Build strong relationships with executives, delivery teams, and clients to resolve issues effectively.
Help refine internal legal processes, policies and templates to improve efficiency and embed best practice.
Gain exposure to insurance, PPSA, governance matters, privacy and data protection, supplier and service agreements, and workplace relations issues.
Contribute to compliance frameworks such as modern slavery, anti-bribery and competition law, while supporting broader risk management initiatives across the business.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer with strong front-end construction and infrastructure experience, gained in private practice or an in-house environment.
Strong negotiation and drafting skills, and confidence working across both pre-contract and delivery phases.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage confidently with senior executives, delivery teams and clients.
Commercially minded and pragmatic, providing practical, business-focused advice that supports project success.
Broader generalist experience across areas such as insurance, governance or risk will be highly regarded.
Motivation to take on a role with greater visibility, leadership exposure, and the opportunity to step towards senior legal counsel or general counsel responsibilities.
