About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Economic Policy directorate which is part of the Economic business unit. The Economic Policy directorate develops economic strategies and policies, advances economic reforms, drives better regulation across the State’s public sector, and undertakes economic modelling and in-depth economic impact analysis to support the economic development of Western Australia.
The opportunity
Are you passionate about helping solve the challenges facing our economy and society? We are looking for a motivated Senior Policy Analyst to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. This role sits within the Economic Reform team, where you will:
* Identify and support the implementation of economic reforms aligned with Western Australia’s broad economic development strategy.
* Work collaboratively with other areas of Treasury and Finance and other government agencies to provide evidence-based advice on a range of issues related to economic growth and living standards.
* Support the implementation of Western Australia’s Better Regulation Program, as required.
We currently have one (1) fixed term full-time position within the Economic Reform team available to backfill maternity leave. This position is available through to December 2027 with possibility of extension or permanency.
