About The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Asbestos Analyst to join our high-performing asbestos team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role with a strong focus on technical excellence, mentoring, and continuous improvement. You'll play a pivotal role in conducting and reviewing complex asbestos identification and fibre counting, administering training programs, and driving method development and compliance in line with ISO 17025.
Responsibilities
* Perform and review complex asbestos identification in soil and bulk materials using PLM
* Conduct and oversee fibre counting using PCM, ensuring precision and accuracy
* Approve and finalise analytical results and client reports
* Provide expert technical support and advice to clients
* Lead internal and external training programs for junior analysts and clients
* Administer and contribute to proficiency testing programs
* Drive method development and improvements in asbestos analysis
* Conduct internal audits and liaise with external auditors to maintain accreditation compliance
* Mentor and support the development of junior staff
* Maintain strict adherence to WHS, NATA, and ISO 17025 standards
About You / Qualifications
* A relevant science degree (e.g. Chemistry, Environmental Science)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in asbestos identification and fibre counting
* Advanced expertise in PLM and PCM
* Strong understanding of ISO 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements
* Experience in training and mentoring junior analysts
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
* The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
