About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from planning through to completion. This role is responsible for coordinating resources, managing subcontractors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Project Manager, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Interpreting architectural drawings, engineering designs, and technical specifications
* Coordinating labour resources and overseeing the procurement and delivery of materials, plant, and equipment
* Consulting and liaising with architects, engineers, other professionals, and technical and trade personnel
* Negotiating with building owners, property developers, and subcontractors to ensure contractual obligations are met
* Preparing, reviewing, and submitting tenders and contract bids
* Implementing and managing coordinated work programs across construction sites
* Ensuring compliance with building legislation, Australian standards, and performance requirements relating to quality, cost, and safety
* Arranging and managing the submission of plans and documentation to local authorities
* Managing construction works under contract or subcontract arrangements, including specialised building services
* Overseeing the quality, progress, and performance of subcontractors’ work
* Arranging and coordinating building inspections by local authorities and relevant certifiers
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a Construction Project Manager role or similar
* Strong knowledge of Australian building legislation, codes, and standards
* Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documentation
* Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* High level of organisational and problem-solving ability
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or a related field
* Trade background with extensive project management experience will be considered
* White Card (or ability to obtain)
* Relevant licences or certifications (desirable)
