HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS5 Finance Officer on behalf of our client, located in various locations.
About the Role
The APS5 Finance Officer plays a key role in supporting the financial management of the organisation.
Working within the Financial Reporting and Control Branch, you will contribute to effective asset and lease management, reporting, and compliance processes.
The role involves stakeholder engagement, preparation of financial documents, and ensuring compliance with AASB16 requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with asset, fleet and property lease management in SAP REFX.
- Reviewing new, modified, and terminated fleet lease contracts.
- Performing reconciliations, preparing journals, and maintaining records of leasing expenses.
- Preparing monthly reports and working papers for financial statements and audit.
- Liaising with Property, Fleet and other stakeholders to resolve variances.
- Drafting written material such as business cases, reports, and briefs.
- Providing advice and support to internal stakeholders on financial asset management.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, or related functions.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, reporting, and compliance.
- High-level organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under limited supervision and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with SAP, particularly REFX leasing module (advantageous).
- Capacity to draft high-quality written material for business use.
- Willingness to complete required pre-employment checks, including NDIA's Pre-Engagement Check.
