The Opportunity
In this role, you will safely transport visitors and residents between Raymond Island and Paynesville.
Your will be responsible for:
Operating the Ferry in a safe, timely and reliable manner, monitoring vehicles and patrons at all times.
Conducting pre-start vessel checks and daily maintenance ensuring the Ferry is clean and hazard free.
Collect applicable fares and check ferry passes.
Providing excellent customer service to all patrons, while confidently managing and de-escalating conflict when required.
This is a casual position and is based in Paynesville/Raymond Island.
We're looking for someone who has experience commanding a vessel and maintaining equipment.
You'll have excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with the general public and the ability to handle conflict.
You will need the following qualifications:
Victorian recreational marine license with the ability to obtain a Coxswain Grade 3 endorsement.
Current First Aid and provide CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009
A current, valid Victorian driver's licence
Applicants with the following skills will be looked upon favourably
Control Traffic with Stop-slow bat
Knowledge of the McMillan Strait and varying sea conditions
Marine engineering knowledge
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical.
You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
