The Role
Our Newcastle Wills & Estates team is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers collaboration with experienced professionals and further development of legal secretarial skills.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with all aspects of Wills and Estates; including preparation of Wills, EPOA's and associated estate planning documents, authorities and distribution statements (when required).
* Word processing / typing and collating correspondence and other documents, amending and formatting documents quickly and accurately.
* Digital dictation (when required).
* Attending to file opening, preparing cost letters, attending to archiving of files once completed.
* Generating trust and office receipts and cheque requisition.
* Effectively managing and maintaining calendars, monitoring client timeframes and providing reminders as necessary.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have strong experience as a legal secretary, preferably within a Wills & Estates practice. You will have a demonstrated understanding of legal terminology, principles, procedures and forms. You will be a self-starter, able to show initiative, and have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
