Kilcoy State High School is seeking applications for a motivated, compassionate and suitably experienced professional to join our Student Support Team as a full-time temporary Youth Support Coordinator.
This role will include referring at risk students to appropriate agencies and support services that will assist students to overcome barriers to education and training and provide individual support, case management and, where appropriate, group support to students to maximise their engagement with education and training.

Our Student Support Team plays a critical role in empowering our young people, supporting their education and wellbeing through robust connections within themselves, peers and the wider community. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, works well as part of a team and has a passion to support students to be resilient young people who can thrive in their chosen pathways.
As the youth support coordinator, you focus on supporting at-risk students by identifying their individual needs and referring them to appropriate agencies and support services to help them overcome barriers to education and training. The position involves providing tailored individual support, case management, and, when suitable, group support/programs to enhance student engagement and participation in educational and training pathways.
The Youth Support Coordinator demonstrates a high level of integrity, reports to their nominated delegate for daily operational matters, while maintaining professional accountability and supervision through the Regional Youth Support Coordinator.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify barriers to young people achieving outcomes and referral to appropriate support services.
- Maintain records of student contact on a daily basis.
- Support students to achieve satisfactory learning outcomes.
- Develop and monitor post program support as required to meet program performance criteria.
- Develop and foster relationships between the school and families of students to assist at risk students to remain engaged with education or training.
