About Your New Role 
As Senior Utilities Compliance Engineer, you'll ensure water and sewerage assets are delivered to a "fit for purpose" standard in alignment with the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008, Planning Act 2016, and the SEQ Water and Sewerage Design and Construction Code. 
Key Responsibilities 
- Assess complex connection applications and provide recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. 
- Conduct site inspections including prestart meetings, hold points, commissioning, and on/off maintenance. 
- Resolve construction and compliance issues, liaising closely with Construction Inspectors. 
- Review and endorse plan sealing applications and “as constructed” asset data submissions. 
- Approve Non-Standard water and sewer connection applications. 
- Mentor junior engineers, providing leadership on complex technical matters. 
- Oversee the full lifecycle of application assessments—from OPW pre-start to off-maintenance. 
- Assist in refining team processes, procedures, and documentation. 
We’re Looking For People Who Have 
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. 
- Extensive experience in water and sewer infrastructure compliance and development assessments. 
- Solid understanding of relevant legislation and design standards. 
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a technical team. 
- Local government experience – desirable 
- Driver's Licence (C class) – desirable 
- General Construction White Card – desirable
