Government Jobs: A Policy Officer Role in Strategic Planning

The Strategic Policy Branch of our Department plays a key role in providing overarching, connected policy views on cross-cutting issues and drives policy thinking for the Department of Education.
Our work focuses on high priorities for the Minister and Department's Executive, such as supporting major reviews across early childhood, schools, and higher education. We also support broader government priorities, including the Employment White Paper, Measuring What Matters Statement, and APS Reform.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to department-wide priority policy projects and advice
* Draft data-driven strategic documents
* Provide high-level executive and Ministerial briefing material
* Develop hypothesis-driven approaches to complex problems and guidance material, including toolkits
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
* A strong understanding of policy development and implementation
* Experience working with complex data and information
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
