KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides technical, price and delivery information to customers in response to phone, mail and e-mail inquiries; receives and writes up phone orders; discusses applications, specifications and capabilities of various products and suggests ways in which specific products would prove advantageous. Refers situations which require a personal call or further follow up to the Field Sale Engineer /General Manager.
2. Assists order analyst in interpreting orders; obtains needed technical engineering and production information.
3. Works with customers and engineering to develop a new or modify existing products to meet customer requirements. Works with Manufacturing and Cost Accounting to develop prices and delivery schedule for new products. Arranges for customer approval of drawings as required.
4. Makes sales calls twice a year to customers requiring more technical assistance and guidance, typically consultants, remediation companies and end users.
5. Works with Product line Managers to develop new resale and manufactured products for introduction into the Product Line Catalogue. This includes, but is not limited to product marketing research, procurement, testing, specification development, product release, etc.
6. Develops acceptable response levels to calls sent to the corporate telephone technical assistance queuing system as determined by the Technical Sales Manager. Acceptability will be based on on-time log-in,customer wait time, call abandonment rate, availability, total calls, etc.
7. Provides timely and quality services and support to all internal and external customers. Independently seeks and identifies problems and constraints blocking progress toward these objectives. Consistently develops creative and effective solutions to those opportunities.
8. Responsible for organizing a minimum of two trade shows per annum in Australia. All aspects of planning, arranging of products and show stand. There may be a need to man the stand.
9. Responsible for customer database management. In addition, monthly mail outs will be sent to specific customer groups throughout the year
10. Responsible for offering a calibration service for gauges and the sales of this service to potential customers.
11. Required to assist with order taking, order packing, shipping and inventory if required.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

1. Replies promptly to requests for quotations.
2. Completes tender documents as required.
3. Handles customer complaints courteously and diplomatically. Refers special problems to General Manager
4. Responds to requests for delivery improvements through conference with manufacturing product schedulers. Obtains information from production regarding status or schedule of customer orders. Works with customers, Engineering, and Production to resolve any problems which arise.
5. Contacts customers to discuss repair charges and explain the inspection facilities findings of the returned units as requested.
6. Other duties as and when required at the direction of the General Manager.
7. Has the ability to provide creative solutions for new problems and is alert to the need for innovation in attacking these problems.
8. Has a personality compatible with the organization and strives to produce at a desirable level. Has the drive and physical ability to maintain a high level of productivity.
9. Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner and maintains himself/herself and his work area to reflect this level of professionalism. This is inclusive of administering sales policies and procedures, and reflecting positive company image with prospects and customers.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to deal effectively and courteously with others, both inside and outside the company. Ability to receive and transmit technical and order information from-to customers. Thorough knowledge of products and their common applications.
