**Indirect Tax Technical Specialist**
Reporting to the Head of Indirect Tax, this role is critical to the organisation as it is a succession planning role for future leadership.
We are looking for an experienced Indirect Tax professional with a focus on GST or Excise, to join this market leader and household brand. You will support the tax leads to enhance and protect value by providing specialist indirect tax advice/ support, and assisting in the management of the Group's tax risks (financial and other) to deliver commercial and financial outcomes and preserve the Group's long term viability.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Support delivery of practical strategic commercial Indirect Tax advice to support, protect and drive business performance
- Support timely and quality delivery of on-time, no surprises compliance activities for all aspects of Indirect tax through efficient planning, execution, resource utilisation and communication
- Ensure accurate, timely and high-quality reporting is prepared for stakeholders to meet agreed requirements
- Provide accurate and timely financial and operational risk management advice
- Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities appropriately
- Partner the business to provide expert advice on Projects and M&A activity
- Play an active role in monitoring Indirect tax reform implications for the Group and implementing appropriate changes
- Support indirect tax advocacy and the development of an Indirect tax strategy consistent with business values
- Support the delivery and management of all indirect tax reviews and audits, both internal and external
- Adhere to relevant financial policies, governance and risk management frameworks, including the development of appropriate tax risk management policies and procedures
- Support continuous improvement through the simplification and/or automation of systems and processes

- Engage with and proactively participate in the Business' Achievement Cycle
- A relevant tertiary degree
- Professional Qualification/Registration (e.g. CA/CPA, and/or Masters of Tax or equivalent)
- Understanding of finance disciplines and business operations
- 5+ years post graduate experience in Indirect Tax (ideally GST or Customs) in either a Big 4, mid-tier accounting firm or large corporate environment
- Experienced in utilising data to generate deep insights to influence decisions
- Demonstrated ability in building relationships, business partnering and influencing peers and stakeholders at all levels
