Delivery Consultant: Software Engineer, AWS Professional Services
AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand. As a Delivery Consultant in AWS Professional Services, you will design, build, and deliver cloud-native solutions for customers, combining deep technical expertise with consultancy skills to shape and implement innovative AWS services, especially in AI and ML. You will work closely with clients to understand their challenges, propose solutions, and guide them through the full delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services, including architecture design, software development, and implementation of best practices.
* Provide solution implementations such as software development, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices while collaborating with customers to understand requirements.
* Build and implement distributed computing solutions across cloud environments, including coding, testing, and deployment of new applications or modernisation of existing ones.
* Guide customer and partner teams in software engineering practices, code reviews, architectural decisions, and implementation of AWS services while ensuring quality and security.
* Develop innovative solutions using AWS AI/ML services, building AI-enabled applications, implementing Agent architectures, and creating reusable components.
Basic Qualifications
* 5+ years of programming with a modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
* 5+ years leading development of applications backed by AWS services or other cloud-based technologies.
* 5+ years of experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies building full‐stack applications.
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodeBuild, GitHub Actions), and DevOps practices.
* Experience with distributed systems, micro‐services architecture, event‐driven patterns and proven implementation of large‐scale solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong background in API design and implementation (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and identity protocols such as OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0.
* Knowledge of vector databases, retrieval‐augmented generation, embedding pipelines.
* Understanding of AI agent architectures, development patterns, and protocols such as MCP, A2A, and multi‐agent systems.
* Hands‐on experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Amazon ECS, Kubernetes) and modern development practices.
* Strong proficiency in observability and monitoring tools (OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana) with a focus on operational excellence.
