We are currently seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment, and Training (SHET) Advisor to be based at the Curragh Mine project near Blackwater. Reporting to the SHET Superintendent, the successful candidate will need to handle multiple complex situations simultaneously and have a proven ability to positively influence key stakeholders. The role involves completing tasks such as incident investigations, risk assessments, observations, and supporting line managers.
This position is offered on a DIDO basis from the Central Queensland region, on an 8/6 roster, with camp accommodation provided if required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Facilitate and develop risk assessments aligned with the project’s schedule of works.
* Develop, schedule, and implement a project-specific SHET Monitoring Program based on risk assessments.
* Facilitate and report on incident investigations.
* Monitor the effectiveness of Safety, Health, Environment, and Training management plans and suggest improvements.
* Record and classify incidents accurately in the incident database.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and observations to demonstrate safety leadership.
* Monitor and report on the implementation of SHET management plans and corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHET registers.
* Contribute to SHET risk-based content in project communication forums.
* Assess compliance with site access requirements and facilitate inductions.
* Provide technical input into investigation reports and lead significant investigations when required.
* Develop and deliver SHET information, including inductions, in line with sustainability system requirements.
* Contribute to broader SHET improvement programs within Golding.
Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant diploma qualification or equivalent experience.
* At least two years of site-based experience in mining.
* Proven ability to lead and facilitate risk assessments related to mining work.
* Experience in auditing, incident reporting, and investigations.
