Overview
If you've spent your career in a Tier 1 contractor's design team making sure consultants deliver documentation that's actually buildable, this role will feel like coming home — except you'll be doing it for one of Perth's best developers, on projects that genuinely push the bar on design quality.
Our client is a respected Perth-based developer known for architecturally led residential and mixed-use projects. With several new projects entering design and pre-construction alongside active builds, they're looking for a Design Manager to take ownership of design coordination across their portfolio.
Why This Role
* Competitive salary of $180,000-$240,000 + super (aligned with experience)
* Projects you'll want to talk about — large-scale, design-led residential and mixed-use developments where quality and innovation are non-negotiable
* Creative meets practical — you'll work with leading architects and consultants while ensuring everything can actually be built
* Stable, long-term opportunity — a well-funded business with a deep pipeline and no intention of slowing down
* Genuine career growth — be part of a growing team in a company that invests in its people
* Collaborative culture — a tight-knit team that values good work and good people
What You'll Do
You'll manage the interface between the developer and the full consultant team — architects, structural and services engineers, facade specialists, landscape architects, and subconsultants. Your job is to make sure design documentation is coordinated, complete, and constructable, and that it's delivered on programme. You'll lead BIM coordination, manage design programmes and milestones, resolve RFIs during construction, and ensure design intent is maintained from concept through to completion.
What We're Looking For
* 8+ years in the industry with hands-on design management experience on complex multi-storey residential or mixed-use projects
* Tier 1 builder-side design management background is a real advantage — you've managed consultant coordination within a major contractor's team and understand the downstream cost and programme impact of poor documentation
* Confident managing design interfaces — facades, basements, services risers, wet areas, acoustics, fire engineering
* BIM coordination experience
* Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
* Someone who's equally credible in a design review meeting and a site coordination meeting
Interested?
I'd love to have an initial conversation to share more about the company, the projects, and what makes this opportunity different. No strings attached.
