Seeking an experienced Property Management Officer for an ongoing position south of the river

Hays are partnered with a State Government department south of the river, who are seeking an experienced Property Management officer to fill an ongoing vacancy in the team.
Your new role
* Manage the day‐to‐day requests for routine maintenance, minor repairs, and urgent breakdowns across all metro properties.
* Coordinate with the contracted service providers to ensure timely completion of issues
* Monitor the workflow and status of jobs, ensuring updates are communicated back to sites.
* Maintain oversight of multiple ongoing jobs simultaneously.
* Act as the central communication point between end users and the external service provision companies
* Translate site instructions or issues into clear work requests and maintenance programmes.
* Ensure service providers deliver agreed outcomes and meet quality expectations.
* Provide clear, timely updates to property occupants and operational teams.
* Assess and review quotes for works, ensuring accuracy and value for money.
* Track, document, and escalate issues as required.
* Assist with reporting related to property maintenance and job progress.
* Work collaboratively with the existing team
* Support team members and contribute to a positive, customer‐focused work environment.
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to translate information between technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment with many jobs in progress.
* Proactive, positive attitude with good problem‐solving skills.
* Awareness of buildings, property operations, or facilities environments.
* Understanding of technical or maintenance terminology.
* Experience in real estate, facilities coordination, or client‐side property roles.
* Background in trades or building maintenance, or an interest in transitioning from a trade‐based role.
* Familiarity with the differences between client‐side roles and service delivery environments.
