About the Role

AustEx is a leading manufacturer in the land-based exploration industry, specializing in drilling rigs and related equipment. We have recently moved into our new purpose-built facility to improve our manufacturing and engineering capability.

We're a key player in the mining industry with well-established projects and a large pipeline of work with major clients. Our core services include conceptual design, research and development, drafting, engineering, spare parts sales, manufacturing, maintenance and repair. Established in 2009, we have a reputation for excellence, evident by the relationships we've developed over the years.

Job Responsibilities

* Pick parts from stores and re-order as required, coordinating with stores management.
* Pack parts accordingly into job packs and top-level assembly drawings.
* Purchase various components from suppliers as needed.
* Travel between Austex workshop and stores regularly, using provided vehicles.
* Coordinate painted parts to be packed with purchased parts as per assembly drawings.
* Store complete job assembly packs at stores until required.
* Liaise with project management and procurement officer for timeline requirements.
* Control workshop stores according to job needs.
* Regularly collect parts from suppliers as required.
* Liaise with delivery drivers for collections, ensuring correct information is available.
* Document all data on part locations in drawing transmittals.
* Notify relevant management/supervisors when job packs are complete, transferring responsibility.

Additional Duties

* Assist purchasing officers with daily purchasing tasks for the workshop.
* Help maintain stock levels of PPE.
* Support purchasing officers in maintaining stock levels of bolt and hydraulic fittings racks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel and Word.
* Experience with MYOB or similar accounting software.
* Forklift ticket (desirable but not necessary).

Employee Benefits

This is a full-time position with overtime penalty rates and quarterly profit sharing.
