The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates. A hub of vibrant activity, we host more than 270 lectures, concerts and exhibitions each year, most of which are open to the public. Our students, staff and graduates come from more than 60 nations, bringing a diversity of perspective to campus life.
The Research School of Humanities and the Arts (RSHA) is one of two Research Schools within CASS. It places a strong emphasis on innovative humanities scholarship and on encouraging interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and practice led research. The Research School contributes to public policy and culture, including working collaboratively with national cultural intuitions and encouraging the use of digital technology to make the results of humanities research available to all.
School of Music and School of Art & Design (SoMAD) are two of RSHA's schools and centres. The two schools have a joint administration team. The team provides a wide range of administrative services to SoMAD executives, academic staff and students, including but not limited to finance, HR, student administration, program and course management, admission coordination and education support.
