Job Title
A Learning Support Teacher is sought for a temporary part-time position at our school.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with identifying students with special educational needs and collaborate with parents, colleagues, and external providers to facilitate referral and assessment procedures.
* Deliver intervention, teach students, and assist teachers with curriculum differentiation as specified by the Leader of Learning Support/Learning Support Coordinator.
* Collaborate with class teachers and other relevant individuals to design, implement, and monitor adjustments documented in the Personalised Plan (PP) or Learner Profile (LP).
* Work collaboratively with other Learning Support personnel.
* Contribute to staff professional development and parent education programs.
* Liaise with schools regarding transition periods.
* Prepare documentation required under legislation while upholding privacy, confidentiality, and disability obligations.
* SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF INCLUSIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS.
* Implement programs and processes to support students with disabilities.
* BUILD CAPACITY OF SCHOOL STAFF IN SPECIAL EDUCATION.
Requirements
* Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools.
* Experience working with students with disabilities (K-6).
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders to achieve educational outcomes for students.
* Delivery of professional learning for staff and parents.
* Gathering and utilising assessment data to determine adjustments for individual students and groups.
* Collaborative preparation of Personalised Plans and Learner Profiles for students with disabilities.
* Supporting student enrolment and transitions.
* Working knowledge of Disability legislation and Nationally Consistent Collection of Data.
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
Qualifications
* Four-year trained teacher qualification (or approved three-year trained due to significant prior experience) and postgraduate qualifications in Special Education/special education experience.
* NESA Accreditation.
* Current NSW Working with Children Check number.
* Anaphylaxis training completion.
* CPR training completion.
