We have an exciting opportunity for a Gas Pipeline Technician (Electrical + Instrumentation) to join our team in Townsville where you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and effective execution of work on the North Queensland Gas Pipeline. You will perform field maintenance and operational activities, including instrumentation and electrical tasks. This is a permanent Monday to Thursday (38 hours per week) role with a rotational on-call component so we are looking for someone who resides locally to Townsville or surrounding area.

What you’ll do

* Maintain updates and repairs to control systems.
* Perform fiscal and non-fiscal calibrations on all transmitters and perform metering validations.
* Maintain and gather readings from cathodic protection system.
* Manage E&l maintenance documentation and electronic records.
* Performs repairs and troubleshooting, installations, and updates on PLC Programming equipment.
* Manage stock levels of E&I spare parts.
* Regular and routine Pipeline Patrols.
* Liaison work with landholders, stakeholders and public authorities.
* 100% compliance with OH&S and workplace policies and procedures.

What you’ll have

* Electrical license and trade qualification, and a valid driver’s license.
* Cert III in instrumentation and control.
* Cert IV Hazardous areas – Electrical.
* NACE CP tester accreditation - highly regarded.
* Type B Gas appliance - Service, commission and install or willingness to obtain competency.
* Experience working on or around underground assets.
* High pressure gas experience – preferred.
* Forklift HRWL - highly regarded.
* Work experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance in either Chemical Manufcturing, Oil &Gas or a Mineral Processing environment.
