You'll be in the Home Buying Manage & Own Crew, responsible for the in-life experience of our Home Loan customers, building a brighter future for all by unlocking the dream of Home Ownership for all Australians, and providing them with the best experience.
As aStaff Engineerin theHome Buying Domain, you will play a pivotal role in leading the technical vision, strategy, and execution of customer-facing and internal tools and applications that empower our customers and lenders to make informed decisions with confidence when looking to buy a property.
You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver seamless, intuitive experiences that demystify the complexities of home ownership.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide a talented team of engineers, foster a culture of technical excellence, and drive innovation across our platform.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution for customer-facing and internal tools within the Home Buying Domain
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver seamless, intuitive experiences
Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and guidance to a team of engineers; promote technical excellence and innovation
Define and drive the technical roadmap for teams supporting the home buying journey
Design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems with a secure-by-design mindset
Engage stakeholders, lead technical conversations, and nurture engineers to contribute in group forums
Qualifications & Skills
Passionate technology leader who enjoys designing, problem solving, and taking ownership of technical challenges from start to finish
Strong mentorship and people leadership to build an engaged, curious engineering community
Experience across the full software development lifecycle using Agile practices and DevSecOps
Ability to define and drive technical roadmaps for teams in the home buying journey
Proven ability to design scalable, secure systems with a secure-by-design mindset
Confident in solution design, stakeholder engagement, and leading technical discussions
Collaborative, able to present ideas, influence, and challenge stakeholders
Committed to continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation
Technical Skills
Experience with developing 3-tier applications on-premises and in the cloud
Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js (preferred)
Backend: .

Database: SQL and NoSQL (admin and usage)
Scripting languages (TypeScript, Go, Python, GraphQL)
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus)
