Job Overview
This role involves working as an engine technician in a field service capacity. As part of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with heavy vehicles.
You will work independently to troubleshoot and resolve problems using specialized tools and documented procedures. This will involve identifying required parts and tools, performing preventative maintenance activities, and completing required documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Customer Service: Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, anticipating and ensuring prompt attention to their needs.
* Technical Expertise: Diagnose and repair issues using specialized tools and documented procedures.
* Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance activities on engine and related components as per documented schedules and standards.
* Escalation: Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors.
* Documentation: Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets and timesheets.
* Service Opportunities: Identify additional service opportunities with customers.
* Training: Complete training as required.
* Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Engine Technician Certification: An apprentice-trained engine technician certification (Cert III) or equivalent is required.
* Workshop Experience: Intermediate-level workshop or field service experience is required.
* Preferred Skills: Knowledge of engine products and heavy vehicle experience are preferred.
