About the opportunity
Southern Cross University'sGnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples invites applications for either a Senior Lecturer (Level C) or an Associate Professor (Level D) in Indigenous studies.This role will be central to the continued growth of the College's innovative programs and research, grounded in the knowledge systems, perspectives, and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

As a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor you will be critical in contributing to the teaching, research and engagement activities of Gnibi College. You'll be part of a passionate academic team delivering high-impact Indigenous Knowledge programs and undertaking scholarship that makes a difference in communities and higher education.
Your core responsibilities will include:
* Leading and delivering high-quality teaching that is culturally safe,student-centred, and innovative – including blended and online delivery.
* Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and/or research, including publications, grants, and the supervision of Higher Degree Research (HDR) students.
* Support and engage with Indigenous communities and industry partners to strengthen outcomes and collaboration.
* Mentor others and contribute to a collegial, supportive academic environment.
* You will also play a key role in supporting curriculum development, academic leadership, and strategy.
About you
This is an Identified position, and in accordance with Southern Cross University's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy, only applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are eligible to apply.
You will also bring:
* A strong track record of teaching excellence and curriculum design, ideally in blended or online modes.
* Demonstrated capacity to supervise HDR students through to completion.
* Evidence of national or international recognition in your discipline area through publications, research outcomes or other scholarly impact.
* A deep understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values, and knowledges, and the educational aspirations of communities.
Salary and benefits
Our staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carer's leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs and professional learning opportunities. This position is Full-time, continuing (permanent), and located at Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available.
The level of appointment will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
* Academic Level C: $128,427 - $147,663 per annum, plus 17% employer's contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $172,765.
* Academic Level D: $161,784 - $177,948 per annum, plus 17% employer's contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $208,199.
