The Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high‐quality nursing support and ensure all patients that present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as being appropriate for the service, triaged promptly and provided with front‐line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner. Responsibilities
* Be the first point of contact for patients in urgent care — take charge of triaging every patient who walks through the door with accuracy, empathy, and confidence.
* Conduct thorough and precise nursing triage — quickly assess patient needs and prioritise care to ensure the best outcomes.
* Act decisively in critical moments — identify and elevate emergencies or patient deterioration without hesitation to safeguard patient health.
* Perform hands‐on procedural care such as suturing and plastering, expanding your expertise in a fast‐paced environment.
* Adapt to dynamic, ever‐changing setting — demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as you respond to the unique challenges of urgent care.
* Collaborate closely with patients, their families, carers, and medical practitioners to provide compassionate, patient‐centred care.
* Support patients toward the best clinical outcomes with your knowledge and care.
* Provide essential health information that equips patients to take charge of their wellbeing.
* Complete all patient records accurately and promptly to support continuity of care and quality standards.
* Champion workplace health and safety by actively participating in safety initiatives, promptly reporting any incidents or hazards whilst fostering a secure environment.
About You
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Must be available evenings and weekends Friday to Sunday.
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
* Meet the minimum experience level in one of the following: 3 years in an Emergency Department setting, 3 years of triage experience, or 3 years in ICU, CCU, rural or remote nursing.
* Previous experience in triage with an emergency department or remote nursing is preferred.
* Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and elevate appropriately.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
* Can work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
* A passion for patient‐centred care and a personable approach.
* Will be required to provide a Working with Children's check and National Police check if not already obtained.
