Overview
COLAS Australia are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. Reporting to the State Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to drive new business growth and develop strategic partnerships for our leading construction materials and services organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Increase market share in existing markets and identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Assist in developing commercial proposals for strategic developments, potential joint ventures and partnerships
- Develop, implement and monitor sales and pricing strategies
- Participate in regular analysis of bid schedules, work on hand and win/loss statistics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and handover
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Initiate, support and follow-up business units for progressing opportunities and provide commercial support to the operations team
- Attend client meetings and present bid proposals
- Participate in industry events and networking activities to raise our profile
What we\'re looking for
- 5 years+ experience in a managerial role within Asphalt or Bitumen industries
- Civil contracting/ road construction/ estimating and project management experience
- Strong experience in managing bids/ large civil engineering projects in an operational or commercial capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to negotiate effectively
- Proficient in preparing compelling sales proposals and presentations
