Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The key responsibilities and duties of the Business and Data Analyst (Software Engineer) are as follows:
* Collaborated with account managers, government clients, and stakeholders to gather and analyse business, financial, and system requirements across major accounts including Transport for NSW, Sydney City Council, ActewAGL, and Brisbane City Council.
* Designed, developed, and maintained automated Excel-based financial, operational, and invoice reporting tools aligned with contractual and business requirements.
* Translated client and business needs into technical specifications and data models, adapting reporting and systems to changing contracts and government declarations.
* Analysed existing systems and processes to identify gaps, implement improvements, and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security.
* Tested, debugged, and supported data analysis tools and spreadsheet applications in line with quality standards and security controls.
* Managed testing and automation of reporting solutions to ensure reliable performance and data integrity.
* Developed and maintained technical and end-user documentation to support system use and compliance.
* Built a dynamic Excel-based reporting solution for a Transport for NSW asset capture and preventative maintenance project, enabling real-time tracking, financial reporting, and data visualisation.
* Analysed operational metrics and financial data to support weekly client meetings, performance reviews, and cost analysis.
* Identified and mitigated system and data risks through validation, access controls, and anomaly detection.
Essential Criteria:

* Tertiary qualifications in relevant field
* 2+ years of previous experience in a software related field.
