Group Manager, Finance & Business Planning
About the role
Hays are proud to be partnering with a large, commercially focused Victorian Government agency responsible for managing a diverse and significant infrastructure asset base, in the recruitment of a Group Manager, Finance & Business Planning.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Group Manager, Finance and Business Planning leads financial management, enterprise planning and performance reporting functions.
You will oversee financial accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and treasury, while also leading the integration of enterprise-wide business planning processes. Acting as a trusted advisor to Executive stakeholders, you will provide high-quality insights, scenario modelling and financial guidance to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide strategic leadership across the finance function, driving performance, accountability and team engagement
* Oversee enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting and integrated business planning processes
* Deliver high-quality Board and Executive reporting, including concise and insightful papers and analysis
* Provide commercial insights and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making and investment prioritisation
* Strengthen financial governance, controls and compliance frameworks
* Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business strategy into financial outcomes
* Oversee financial systems, reporting frameworks and data integrity (including ERP systems such as TechnologyOne)
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, systems and capability
What We're Looking For
* Proven senior finance leadership experience within a complex organisation
* Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and statutory compliance
* Demonstrated experience leading integrated business planning and performance frameworks
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including advising Executives and Boards
* Strong commercial acumen and experience supporting investment decision-making
* Deep understanding of governance, risk and compliance frameworks
* Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or related discipline, with CA/CPA (or equivalent)
