Tarremah is currently seeking a part-time Student Support Specialist/Counsellor. We are looking for a warm and creative person, with excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to a wide cross section of people in a thoughtful and nurturing manner. The successful candidate will join our Student Support Team, sharing responsibilities to determine and provide the appropriate support for students in need. They will liaise with the appropriate agencies, consulting and collaborating with parents, teachers and teaching assistants.
For this position, training and familiarity in Steiner pedagogy is highly desirable, along with qualifications and experience in holistic, developmental approaches to providing therapeutic support. Duties will include planning, delivering and reviewing support in accordance with our pedagogical approach and the specific needs of students and their families. Personal qualities should include an affinity with anthroposophical ideas, consistency, diligence in administrative tasks, and a positive, adaptable nature. Demonstrable competence in working with colleagues and parents is also a necessary prerequisite.
Tarremah is a well-established Steiner school in Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania and offers classes from Playgroup to Class 10.
