About the role:

As a member of the Curriculum and Learning executive team the Director, Early Years Curriculum and Learning initiatives across the early years sector, from birth through to age 8. The position plays a pivotal role in shaping how young learners experience education and development during their critical formative years.

Leading the development of the curriculum and learning aspects of the Early Years Learning Framework, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practice, this position is primarily focussed on curriculum and learning for preschools. The Director, Early Years Curriculum and Learning will influence the quality of early childhood education across the sector and support educators in their professional practice.

About you:

* Deep understanding of birth to age 8 curriculum and learning with proven early years leadership experience in creating high-performing teams and maintaining extensive professional networks.
* Demonstrated ability to apply flexible, innovative solutions while making decisions guided by public sector values and the best interests of children, young people, employees and the community.
* Proven capability in building capability in others, strengthening organisational learning, and communicating with empathy to inspire and empower diverse people.
* Committed to creating safe, inclusive work environments with knowledge of Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety legislation.

Essential qualifications and competencies:

An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline desirable or relevant experience.

Experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, ensuring the translation of priorities into executed deliverables.

You must have, or be able to obtain, a Department for Human Services issued Working With Children Check.
