Applications are welcome from candidates based in Wagga Wagga, Albury and Queanbeyan.The Fleet Technician role will involve regular travel around the Central West, Riverina/Murray and Southeast/Tablelands of NSW working mostly on crane borers and EWP’s. This role would suit any mechanical trade background as full training is provided.Our Fleet team manages over 3,600 highly specialised operational assets with a replacement value of approximately $191 million. Essential Energy fleet assets travel around 34 million kilometres per year. So, no one day is the same as the next!Some key position responsibilities include:Responsible for carrying out diagnostic, specialist testing and fault diagnosis of heavy vehicle compliance requirements to meet industry standards, regulatory and business needs.Conduct general mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs plus engineering projects, which include welding, machining, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication workPerform general plant work including maintenance, inspection, repairs and adjustments to all fleet assetsResponsible for heavy vehicle refits, maintenance and repairs.About youPractical application of the trade qualification relevant to the role including plant, heavy or light automotive fields and areas of specialist or engineering trades.Significant practical experience in heavy and light fleet operations including plant and equipment used in the energy transmission and distribution environment.Strong experience in heavy vehicle specialist engineering, hydraulics, pneumatic, auto electrics, welding and fabrication.Conversant with heavy and light vehicle standards and regulatory requirements for work in an energy transmission and distribution environment.Knowledge of regulations pertaining to heavy and light fleet operations and in particular relevant knowledge of AS 2550.10, AS 1418.10, RMS regulations.Working knowledge of safe plant operations and procedures in an energy transmission and distribution environment.Required QualificationsRelevant mechanical based trade qualifications.Current NSW Drivers Licence.WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert.Willingness to be flexible and work away from home.Why Essential EnergyWe offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience and 16% superannuation.Essential Energy provides employees with a broad range of employee benefits including relocation assistance, health and wellbeing programs and various discounts through our corporate partnerships with organisations such as Optus, JB HI FI, Mildura Health Fund and nib.
