**About the opportunity**
As the **Compliance Officer**, you will be responsible for monitoring University of Sydney compliance against relevant federal government legislation and regulations and reporting on compliance issues. You will also manage student and stakeholder enquiries relating to compliance across the range of departments and agencies, making appropriate referrals and supporting all functions associated with the University's adherence to the Educational Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- work with a team of Compliance Officers, and report to the International Reporting & Compliance Manager
- produce, analyse and compare reports from the University's student record system to inform compliance monitoring, making recommendations for improvements to manage risk where appropriate
- assess and respond to requests for the issuance of student visa documentation and cancellation in accordance with enrolment and legislative requirements
**About you**
- bachelor's degree and experience and/or knowledge in risk mitigation and compliance strategies to support the ESOS framework within a higher education setting
- extensive knowledge of PRISMS, SITS, Sydney Student and VEVO
- can contribute to the development of systems and processes to support risk mitigation
- strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems relating to the issuance of student visa documentation and/or cancellation in accordance with the enrolment and legislative requirements
- ability to communicate informative, timely and accurate messages to international student visa holders.
