Role Summary
This is a unique 12-month contract offering the chance to work across two dynamic positions over two six-month terms.
* Term One: Communications and Public Relations Advisor – supporting the Mayor, Councillors and Executive Leadership Team to deliver proactive, high-impact media and public relations strategies.
* Term Two: Strategic Communications Specialist – leading organisation-wide strategic campaigns that deliver on our community vision and strengthen the City's reputation.
You'll be supported by an experienced and collaborative team as you transition between these roles, providing the opportunity to expand your skills across media relations, communications campaign management and digital communications.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver proactive media and public relations strategies that support the Mayor and Council.
* Coordinate media enquiries, write speeches, statements, and creative content across multiple channels.
* Plan, develop and evaluate strategic communications campaigns that align with the City's Strategic Communications Framework and Strategic Community Plan.
* Manage digital and social media content to build audience engagement and strengthen community connection.
* Collaborate across the organisation to deliver consistent, brand-aligned communications.
