Auger Supplies WA is a small, family-run business servicing farmers and agricultural businesses throughout Western Australia. We specialise in grain augers and associated steel products and operate from modern, well-located premises in Forrestdale with ample on-site parking.
We are seeking a reliable, motivated Welder / Spiral Welded Steel Tube Mill Operator to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis.
About the role
This is a hands-on, all-rounder position involving:
* MIG welding duties
* Operation of a spirally welded steel tube mill
* Steel coil fed through a forming die with automatic MIG welding as the tube exits
* Machine cutting to length during the mill process
* Additional manual cutting using a slitter
* General workshop and packaging duties as required
Full training will be provided for operation of the tube mill (approximately 4 weeks). After training, the successful applicant will be expected to operate independently with minimal supervision.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 3 years' welding experience
* Strong working knowledge of MIG welding procedures
* Trade-level welding proficiency (certification not required)
* Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently
* Good physical fitness - capable of lifting and moving heavy items, bending, kneeling, and manual handling
* A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and progress
* Current LF (counterbalance) forklift licence - required before commencing employment
* Experience handling awkward or "ugly" loads will be advantageous
* Basic carpentry skills for packaging duties also highly regarded
