We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental illness and dementia in frail elderly patients across a range of settings including clinics, patients’ homes, residential aged‑care facilities, and a sub‑acute inpatient unit. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, participate in an on‑call roster, and comply with the Mental Health Act 2013 and the Guardianship and Administration Act 1995.
Responsibilities
* Assess and diagnose mental illness and dementia in older adults across diverse care settings.
* Develop and implement treatment plans, including pharmacological and psychosocial interventions.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and case managers to coordinate care.
* Attend outpatient clinics and provide specialist input for sub‑acute inpatient services.
* Participate in an on‑call roster for the sub‑acute inpatient unit.
* Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements under the Mental Health Act 2013 and the Guardianship and Administration Act 1995.
