We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our restaurant.
Position Summary The Chef is responsible for planning, organising, and supervising the preparation and cooking of food within the restaurant.
This role requires maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and efficiency while working closely with management and kitchen staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Planning and developing menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal availability and customer preferences Estimating food and labour costs and ensuring dishes are prepared within budget Ordering food supplies, managing stock levels, and minimising waste Preparing, cooking, and presenting food in accordance with established recipes and quality standards Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on cooking procedures Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff to ensure smooth operations Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations and kitchen safety procedures Selecting, training, supervising, and supporting kitchen staff as required Freezing and preserving foods to maintain quality and reduce waste Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas Skills, Qualifications Experience AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) in a relevant field Minimum relevant work experience as a Chef in a restaurant or catering environment Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and Australian health regulations Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer Stable full-time employment Supportive and professional work environment Opportunity to contribute to menu development and kitchen operations Career growth opportunities within the business How to Apply Interested applicants should submit their resume and relevant qualifications to: *************************
