About the role
Lead culturally safe cancer care in North West Queensland by working in partnership with the McGrath Foundation and the Mount Isa Cancer Care Unit.
Responsibilities
* Provide culturally safe cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients across North West Queensland.
* Embed cultural safety and community connection into cancer care delivery.
* Work in partnership with the McGrath Foundation and the Mount Isa Health Service.
* Support and guide First Nations nurses through mentoring and education.
* Receive clinical & cultural support from the Foundation's First Nations Nurse Clinical Lead & Educator.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse registration.
* Relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background is a genuine occupational requirement.
* Previous experience in cancer nursing and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander health is highly regarded.
* Valid C class motor vehicle licence.
* Successful completion of pre‐employment screening including criminal history checks.
* Evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis may be required.
* Potential probation period.
Benefits
* Salary range $***** to $***** per hour.
* Isolation bonus: AUD$3,605 for 1 year, AUD$10,815 for 2 years and AUD$7,210 pro‐rate for subsequent years.
